When purchasing engineering services, you co-own the intellectual property developed by the engineers including layouts, drawings, specific software.

At the end of the engineering project our support continues as we will be able to provide quotes for the customized equipment used and manufacture the equipment individually for your process most efficiently.

R&D

We at next Machinery Group are proud to have partnered with Coatema Coating Machinery to exclusively bring access to the best equipped coating, printing, and laminating R&D center to North American customers. With over 12 pilot lines and 20 coating systems, several laboratories, and a team of over 10 researchers, we support your R&D efforts effectively and efficiently.

We understand that you are in the driver seat for any product developments and ensure 100% confidentiality for any type of R&D work completed at our center, from development and testing to trials of different substrates and materials. Our know-how and researchers support your efforts by providing a number of services including project formulation, development tasks, and material handling when and if needed.

All our R&D center activities can be in person or virtual avoiding or minimizing the number of trips and therefore development costs for our customers.

A special service offered by our R&D center are slot die simulations. Using a number of important parameters including proprietary software we can effectively simulate how different types of slurries and coating inks will behave on different types of substrates and under different conditions. This approach substantially saves development time and associated costs.

Training

We at next Machinery Group understand that any team is only as good as its weakest link. Translating this strategy to equipment and machinery supply means ensuring equipment operators and engineers fully understand the capabilities, abilities, and limitations of the new equipment as well as safety procedures, set-ups, cleaning, maintenance, and service requirements. This approach enables us to build a symbiosis between the machine and the human operators who live and work with our equipment every day.

Our training services and its duration are customized to your individual requirements, the abilities of your team, and the equipment you purchase. While our HMI is intuitive and self-learning, the training allows your team to learn all details of the equipment inside out – limiting your ramp-up time and therefore saving money in the short term.We are happy to offer training services for both new and used equipment.

Installation

At next Machinery Group the customers come first. To always ensure you are 100% satisfied with our equipment, we offer multiple stages of acceptance testing, installation, and commissioning. Starting with the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) at Coatema’s site in Dormagen Germany, we are happy to provide tests and trials showing the mechanical capabilities of the equipment prior to transportation and shipment – in person or virtually.

Our installation and commissioning services are customized for your personal needs and requirements. Many of your customers have very limited space in either their labs, pilot, or production facilities. Coatema equipment is designed in very compact and versatile formats, but in some cases even the most flexible equipment will need to be assembled on site. Our installation and commission services completed by certified Coatema technicians and engineers ensure you receive exactly the type of service you need. Saving time and money – again.

Following installation at your site and for your peace of mind we offer the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) supported by certified Coatema engineers at your individual location. During this test we confirm that the installed equipment meets all mechanic design requirements and performance – ensuring long term utilization of your equipment at highest efficiency.

Equipment Maintenance Services

Effective equipment maintenance is crucial for a long lifespan and ongoing precision and speed. Coatema’s German-built equipment is specifically engineered for high precision, quality, and longevity paired with particular designs minimizing the amount of maintenance required. Still, even the best equipment needs regular maintenance pit stops and this is where our certified and trained maintenance crew comes in.

We are happy to offer regular on-demand service and annual service contracts to minimize the quantity and durations of pit stops throughout the lifetime of our equipment and limit the risks of unplanned shutdowns and services. Coatema’s service technicians are specially trained to perform all required inspections and checks from safety equipment to electrical and mechanical parts in fast and efficient manner and following individual procedures for your equipment. This enables us to identify machine components that might require changes or repairs like ball bearings, electrical components, filters, sensors, indicators, and many others.

Spare Parts and Upgrades

Coatema is proud to use parts of highest quality across our equipment manufacturing and installations, but even the best parts need replacements after long and continuous use. To ensure ongoing and uninterrupted joy in working with our equipment, we are happy to provide original Coatema spare parts, either on demand after regular service or with equipment purchase as part of the recommended annual spare parts. The clear advantage of keeping a spare parts stock is obvious especially during times of stressed supply chains and long delivery times – any spare parts can be instantly used to limit machine down times.

As with any type of equipment from your phone to your car, the fast improvements in technology and changes in application make all technical equipment age over time. Now, it is not that easy to change a laboratory, pilot, or production coater like your phone or even your car, but our partner Coatema has a specific engineering system in place that allows simple and easy upgrades to existing legacy equipment in the field extending the lifetime of your machines and allowing use of different applications on older units – forward compatibility platforms. We are offering upgrades of existing legacy Coatema equipment with technology that was not even invented when some of the equipment in the field was produced – thanks to our flexible platform approach. This is what we call long a long lifespan enabling the use of our equipment for many next breakthroughs from Lab 2 Fab in many years to come.
